What is the Leonardo programme?

This is a European funded programme run within ‘The College of Commerce’ since 1995.

It is a programme where the ‘Leonardo Department’ within the college select and fund students to travel to another European country for a three- week work placement. We send a College of Commerce teacher with you for the first week to help you settle in and you will have the support of the partner college for the other two weeks.

This year we will send students to Italy, Holland, Finland, Sweden.

Why would you want to go?

It is a fantastic opportunity for you to work in another country, learn about their culture and make new friends.

Who do we select?

We select students from various departments within the college including Beauty Therapy,  Childcare,  Montessori, etc

What will you need to do to be eligible?

You must have an excellent attendance record, get your assignments in on time and if selected, be willing to attend all language and cultural preparation classes.

You must be enthusiastic, interested, in good physical health and be prepared to stay for three- week duration of the placement.

Leonardo Interviews for 2011 programme

Leonardo Interviews for 2011 programme

A huge number of students have applied for placement on the 2011 Leonardo Programme.  They will be interviewed over the next week by Orla O’Riordan, Jane Fitzpatrick and Pauline Matthews.  It is hoped that students will be informed of their interview outcome before the mid-term break.  Each group of students will then have to undergo 8 weeks of Language Training before the programme ommences.
